The Founding of AI Consulting
In 1999, a group of 22 dedicated AI practitioners came together with a vision of creating a global consultancy entirely dedicated to using appreciative, strength-based approaches to organizational change. We met four times a year for three years talking about purpose and principles, and ultimately creating a charter for a totally unique, networked Appreciative Inquiry Consultancy.
AI Consulting Today
Today, AI Consulting is a global network of consultants, academic researchers, business leaders, and individuals committed to creating a positive revolution in change by using Appreciative Inquiry (AI) to engage the “positive core” of all people and all living systems and to expand that rich potential, creating organizations that are themselves agents of world benefit.
AI Consulting is committed to the conceptual and practical advancement of Appreciative Inquiry, including its constructionist, scientific and spiritual foundations. As a community we realize that AI is in a state of evolution and as long as the inquiry part of AI is alive it will continue to contribute to break new ground. We, as a community, are constantly seeking creative links and synergies with related and diverse approaches that share in the search for new frontiers of positive change. At the heart of AIC is the sharing of knowledge and practices, the collaboration on projects or research of mutual interest, and peer to peer sharing and conferences. The AIC community benefits from a common identity in creating marketing materials, products and services.
