Referrals and Contracting
This cluster researches and recommends policies for the consultancy
to follow in handling incoming calls to the AIC office looking for
a consultant, as well as referrals to other AIC Co-Owners.
Interim Referral Process
The following interim referral process is in place and was presented
at the Assembly of the Whole in October 2002.
- A client request for assistance comes into the central AIC office.
- The AIC Manager sends out a brief description of the request
through the OWNERS List and asks interested Co-Owners to submit
a cover letter describing relevant experience and availability
and a resume.
- If the number of responses is a workable number (under 8), the
AIC Manager forwards them on to the client and asks him/her to
negotiate directly with the pool of consultants. If the number
of responses is too large to expect a client to sort through,
then the AIC Manager and a group of 4-5 other Co-Owners makes
a selection of not more than 8 to forward on to the client.
- Once a contract is negotiated, the Co-Owner informs the AIC
Manager and agrees to pay a referral fee back to the central AIC
office according to the following formula: -10% of all fees earned
for the first year - 5% of all fees for the second year - 3% of
all fees for the third year This is the process we will use now.
Feel free to offer your thoughts/reactions through the AIC list,
aiconwner@aiconsulting.org
and we will re-visit this process at the Assembly of the Whole.
Imagine abundance!
